Start your dress hunt 9-12 months in advance if possible! From booking your appointment to the creation of your dress, shipping and fittings, the whole process can take up to a year.
At Marylise, all gowns are handmade and produced on demand, especially for you in your size!

2. Bridal Boutique Appointments

When visiting a bridal boutique, be mindful of how many guests you bring along. One or two trusted friends or family members can help keep the experience intimate. Too many opinions can sometimes make the decision more difficult. Select guests who understand your style and will offer supportive, honest feedback.

3. Wear Appropriate Undergarments & Shoes

Preferably, take nude-coloured underwear and your chosen bridal shoes to your appointment. This ensures your gown will fit perfectly from every angle and you can start simulating your bridal look! Get a feel for the movement and flow you’ll have on your special day.

4. Don’t Be Afraid to Say Yes!

Sometimes, the first dress you try on will be the one to steal your heart! Don’t be afraid to say yes just because it’s the first dress. Try on a few more styles but if that special one is still on your mind, go back and try it again. A lot of our Marylise brides fell in love with the first dress they tried on and they’re still in love in the years to come!
